Astro Fighter Sunred is a story of good and evil which takes place in the city of Kawasaki. Frankly, I was skeptical with the idea of a tokusatsu anime in today’s culture, but Sunred has been a real treat for me. The nostalgia factor works a huge amount in the entertainment value: tantalizing fights, fearsome monster designs, and an uplifting OP that’s sure to get your blood pounding. The fight scenes are great–this show has beautifully styled animation that rivals Casshern Sins in terms of execution. The difference is that the fights are swifter and much more brutal. There’s really no contest here.
