This post is part of the 12 Days series.
And yes, that is a pot with shit.
Hyouge Mono is what I’d like to classify as a sleeper hit. It is a historical fiction with a disproportionately large cast of old men, and evokes a very slight LoGH vibe to me. Set in the Warring States (Sengoku) period of Japan, Furuta Sasuke isn’t a warlord, but a tea connoisseur who is also a messenger of the Oda army.
In episode 6, Sasuke is tasked to parley with an enemy lord and convince him to surrender. To gain entry, he bribes the guards with tea treasures (that are his own forgeries).
But sometimes it doesn’t work.
Being the true man that he is, how could Sasuke refuse? The sheer ridiculousness of Sasuke’s situations (as well as his reaction faces) is the prime point of entertainment in this show.
