(Unfortunately not related to Turn A Gundam in any way.)
Tired of watching the same anime all over again? Sick of stupid adolescents and their underdeveloped brains? Would you rather be watching mature characters in a mature story?
Turning Girls is a short web anime series by a group named AnimeBancho, wherein the characters are all single women on the cusp of reaching 30 (hence the “Turning” part of the title). Each episode is five minutes long (with official English subs), and it’s made with a small budget in mind so don’t expect lavishly-detailed animation. The art is clean enough, though. So far there are three episodes out, which cover topics like group dates (go-kon), unproductive office days, and breaking an arm for your hobbies. Two out of three ain’t bad for me!
There’s really not much else to say, but I think it captures the world-weary, jadedness of adults. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I need to watch something that isn’t about high school kids…
I watched this yesterday. Episode 2 was pretty hilarious.
PUNISHMENTTTT
Most any anime not centered around high school students gains my attention these days. I’ll have to give this show a try.
But schneider, ALL anime is about high school. You must have stumbled across some Korean animation or something and mistook it for anime. Honest mistake though, buddy.
Ummmmmmmm… no comment!
Loved the second one.
That channel has a bunch of neat stuff, huh. I like this one too:
Might wanna take a look at Servant x Service. As for Turning Girls, it makes my day.
I’m watching it and I like it!
As a civil servant myself, I wish I had a glasses-wearing, busty female officemate at work to get through the day.
But alas, reality is such a bitch.
What are you going to do with her??
I gonna friend her. Over and over. 🙂
The water in the second episode had me laughing a lot.
Shows like these are pretty much refreshing considering that majority of anime we see are teenager/high school-centric, which is a reality that I accepted long ago when it comes to anime. So yeah, I loved these shorts.
